Severn School senior Eric Hall made eight birdies and shot a 5-under-par 68 at Woodholme Country Club in Pikesville on April 27 to win the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association championship with a record 36-hole score of 135.
Hall’s 10-under-par 135 began with a 67 on April 26 at Eagles Nest Country Club. The Severn senior hit 35 of 36 greens in regulation and won the title by eight strokes.
Said Severn golf coach Chris Haskins, “I’ve been playing golf for 20 years, and I’ve never seen a better two rounds of golf in person. Several coaches in the MIAA A Conference said they haven’t seen someone play that well or shoot that low.
“Eric is a very skilled golfer in all aspects of the game,” said Haskins.
Hall, who has a 4.6 GPA, is committed to attend and play golf for Yale University.
